Who are you online?
I've already mentioned that some organizations will check your online identity as part of any recruitment so let's see who you are online.
Go to Google and enter your name (enclosed in double quote marks). Don't enter any middle names simply your forename and surname. Make a note of the number of hits returned and have a look through to see how many are actually you. Look at some of the other people with the same name and think about whether you are happy that you might be mistaken for them. Try this with any diminutions of your name which you commonly use. Are you surprised at the findings? Do you have an online footprint? Is there room for misunderstandings here? Try searching for your name on 192.com too.
Do any of these sites look familiar?
Naz Manhaji?
Raquel Stewart?
Write about your findings in a blog posting.
